Well, this book is pretty simple and straight forward yet valuable.
It is 87 pages long (excluding the intro and end part (duuuhhh who reads that lol)) a very basic motivational book.
It is based on 4 agreements:
Be Impeccable with Your Word
Don’t Take Anything Personally
Don’t Make Assumptions
Always Do Your Best
It starts off with explaining how domesticated we were as a kid. The beliefs we were imposed upon wrong which taught us to stay in the box with confined boundaries on our actions, thoughts and dreams.
We need to break these unreasonable rules and think out of the box.
We need to get out of the never ending chain of thoughts (called as mitote).
Other than that,
the most important #learning for me was to be Impeccable with your words. Once you start using your words with 100% about yourself, slowly you will start living in it. It's same as you say that a random guy came upto you says
"Dude! did you just wet your pants?"
You won't spare a second to get up and check it.
So yeah, say good shit about yourself and own it (Like a BOSS!!)
'We don’t need to know or prove anything. Just to be, to take a risk and enjoy your life, is all that matters. Say no when you want to say no, and yes when you want to say yes. You have the right to be you. You can only be you when you do your best. When you don’t do your best you are denying yourself the right to be you. That’s a seed that you should really nurture in your mind. You don’t need knowledge or great philosophical concepts. You don’t need the acceptance of others. You express your own divinity by being alive and by loving yourself and others. It is an expression of God to say, “Hey, I love you.”'
'There is no way. If you are impeccable with your word, if you don’t take anything personally, if you don’t make assumptions, if you always do your best, then you are going to have a beautiful life. You are going to control your life one hundred percent.'
It ends with a really nice prayers. (must read)
I know this review is way to small, but the book is too. It's worth a quick read and move on.
Hey BTW, your pants are wet
LOL
#Quotes from the book
"You will only receive a negative idea if your mind is fertile ground for that idea"
"You can live in heaven in the middle of thousands of people living in hell because you are immune to that hell"
"When you make it a strong habit not to take anything personally, you avoid many upsets in your life. Your anger, jealousy, and envy will disappear, and even your sadness will simply disappear if you don’t take things personally"
"So if you fall, do not judge. Do not give your Judge the satisfaction of turning you into a victim"
"We must forgive those we feel have wronged us, not because they deserve to be forgiven, but because we love ourselves so much we don’t want to keep paying for the injustice"
